Why we need a 3D printing liver model

With the application of 3D printing technology in Medicine, detailed 3D printed models are changing the way surgeons approach complex surgeries while paving the way for a revolution in surgical training.

3D printing technology is being used at Trandomed to create realistic organs for surgeons to visualize lesion area and simulate challenging procedures before they do the operation.

The liver model showed in picture above  is made by Trandomed Team, which has the same feel and texture as human liver. It contains the 4 liver lobes, gall bladder, bile duct, portal vein, hepatic artery, inferior vena cava and several tumors. 

It can helped young surgeons familiarize with three dimensional structure of the patient's tumor and liver. For more siphiscated surgeons, it also help them with different operative strategies to preserve liver function when tumor are in chanllenging locations.

This model give young surgeons the opportunity to practice the important skills in a safe and effective simulated environment. It will be  the most realistic and versatile model for you to rehearse the partial hepatectomy.
